The Network "Ambassadors Against forgetting"
“Against Forgetting” wants to motivate young people to become involved against forgetting of war crimes, and to engage for understanding, remembrance and democracy in the network of youth ambassadors Against forgetting. They will learn together, share their knowledge with their peers, develop activities to explore history, and thus point out the connections between lessons from history and European values.
The Network of Ambassadors Against forgetting was inaugurated during the Youth Conference that took place from July 22 to 24, 2026, in Ysselsteyn, the Netherlands, with 85 participants from 11 European countries.
The network is open to everyone between the age of 15 and 35 years who is interested and shares the values of the project.

The foundation of the Ambassadors' network
The international youth project “Against forgetting - For Peace and Solidarity in Europe” ended in July 2026 with a youth conference in the youth education center Ysselsteyn, the Netherlands. Although speaking of a closing event of the project funded by the CERV programme of the European Union, the youth conference laid the grounds for the continuation of the project idea with the foundation of a network of Ambassadors Against forgetting. Young Europeans who had been part of the Against forgetting project from the very beginning as well as participants from one or several youth exchanges, and young people completely new to the project, met in Ysselsteyn to develop their ideas and possible contributions to the network of Ambassadors Against forgetting. With a high motivation to go on with projects on history and remembrance, the young Europeans discussed a large variety of capacities and competences they would like to bring in with their engagement against forgetting.
