The Road to Auschwitz
German-Polish Youth Encounter on the Holocaust and Remembrance Culture
July 1–9, 2026 (Brandenburg) • August 21–28, 2026 (Oswiecim/Auschwitz)

To this day, Auschwitz remains a symbol of an unprecedented crime against humanity.
Engaging with this place inevitably leads to the many connections between the persecution of minorities and the Holocaust, as can be seen, for example, at the T4 Memorial in Brandenburg an der Havel.
There, it becomes clear how the Nazi "euthanasia" program initiated the systematic murder of people whom the Nazis considered "inferior."
At the same time, it reveals that these early crimes prepared and “trained” the perpetrators who later organized and carried out the Holocaust.

Join young people from Germany and Poland in learning about the historical origins and developments that led to the Holocaust – the road to Auschwitz.
In addition, we will search for traces of the past together and mark previously unrecognizable war graves of victims of Nazi "euthanasia" murders with a dignified memorial.

From the program:

• Guided tours and visits to memorial sites at authentic historical locations
• Workshops and discussions on the Holocaust, culture of remembrance, and responsibility
• Excursions to Berlin and the surrounding area, among other places
• Joint cultural and leisure program

• Age: 16-26 years
• participation in both project phases in Germany (July 1-9, 2026) and Poland (August 20-28, 2026) is recommended
