Willi Laub was not recovered during our re-interment activities. The planned transfer to the collective cemetery in Cheb was, therefore, unfortunately not possible. His name is recorded in a particular place in the aforementioned cemetery.

Short Biography
Willi Laub wurde am 25.11.1908 in Elmshorn geboren. Er war mit Ilse verheiratet und hatte einen Sohn, Peter. Von Beruf war er Zimmermann. Willi war seit 1929 Angehöriger der Schutzpolizei. Seine Einberufung zur Wehrmacht erfolgte 1939. Er war zuerst in Metz/Elsass eingesetzt, dann ab 1941 erfolgte sein Einsatz in Russland. Ab 1942 diente er bei der Feldgendarmerie. Er starb am 10.05.1945 und wurde bis heute nicht geborgen. Laut einem anonymem Brief einer Flüchtlingsfrau, die bei Laub und seinen Leuten den Rückzug mitmachte, wurde Laub aufgegriffen und bei einem Fluchtversuch erschossen, sein Fahrer begrub ihn anschließend.
