The Zachor Foundation for Social Remembrance is a Budapest-based educational NGO dedicated to Holocaust education and remembrance. By emphasizing personal stories, our pedagogical programs foster empathy in future generations. Founded in 2007, Zachor develops innovative digital teaching materials, youth programs, and teacher trainings that connect past traumas to present issues like antisemitism, discrimination, and memory culture, equipping educators and students with research-informed tools. Through local historical programs like the IWalk-Zachor app, we promote critical thinking, social-emotional learning, and 21st-century competences, empowering students and teachers to approach the past responsibly and become active citizens.
