Do you want to be active in the summer, meet new people from all over Europe and engage with exciting history? Then our work camp is just right for you!

Together we will maintain war graves at the West Cemetery in Magdeburg. Starting from this practical work, we will delve deeper into the history of the graves and the fates of the people buried there. A special thematic focus will be the grave field for the victims of fascism. We will examine how remembrance culture was shaped in the GDR and how political systems influence memory – an exciting look at how history is made visible, used or changed.

In addition to the program, Magdeburg itself invites you to explore: The city on the Elbe offers many opportunities to enjoy leisure time together with its impressive cathedral, the colorful Hundertwasser House "Green Citadel" and numerous parks and river landscapes. You can expect an international summer experience with lots of intercultural exchange, joint leisure activities and space for discussion, encounters and new perspectives.
